GMAT Quant Section Success with Vedic Math

A person needs quick calculation speed along with accuracy, which is tough under the time pressure while giving the GMAT. What matters to qualify for an excellent program is getting the 99 percentile, which many will agree is not easy.

You can solve the GMAT quant section in 3 hours easily, but during the examination you get only 75 minutes which gives more important to speed and accuracy for calculation. Those 37 problem can change the name of your B-school and the course of your life.

Ancient Indian sages knew that and much more and their observations led to the development of Vedic Math. Today we have been able to recover the power of Vedic Math, thanks to the brilliant scholar Swami Bharati Krishna Tirtha.

So here are 5 reasons for you to learn Vedic Math to give your best for GMAT examination:

1. Calculate faster than a calculator: You definitely can't use a calculator and much of your time can wasted doing basic operations like subtraction, division, addition and multiplication. With simple trick provided in the secrets of Vedic Math a person can boost his calculation ability by almost 12 times. Trust me, its true.

2. Cross Check the answer within 7 seconds: By learning Vedic Mathematic you get to cross check or double check your answer in a matter of seconds due to its simplicity, this helps to boost your score. If for a silly mistake, you choose a wrong answer then you not only loose the marks but the next answer may not have the same weightage as the level of difficulty may be medium. Time is really valuable during the examination.

3. Write answer from the beginning: Vedic maths is designed to function or solve, from left to right. A person can quickly choose the right answer based on the options, if the beginning is different in eash options provided. GMAT is all about picking the right option and this single point is important for a person to learn vedic math.

4. Shortcuts for Superfast Arithmetic and Algebra : Vedic Mathematics is not all about speedy calculation tricks. The advance section covers simple and valuable techniques for even Algebra and Arithmetics.

Exams like GMAT or GRE is about speed and accuracy– so race towards your dream MBA with Vedic Math.

Is Vedic Mathematics useful for GMAT?

This is one of the common question asked by people who are aware about vedic math, but do not what exactly it is. For those who have never heard this, they prefer to ignore this as this is not "recommended" by the reference book given to them. However, Vedic Mathematics or Vedic Math is important to any person who if given GMAT as this essentially helps you to do quick calculation and save a lot of time. And I suppose, time does become one of the major factor while appearing for GMAT.

This is a quote I found of a student appearing for GMAT and who has tried Vedic Math.
"I have studied Vedic Maths and don't think that it alone will help you get over your quant problems. For quant, you will have to study from the regular stuff - og, kaplan, manhattan, princeton or whatever u prefer ..

Vedic maths is extremely useful for getting super good at basic maths operations and calculations.. it does improve your speed a lot. However, it needs to be used together with the standard material to help anyone in GMAT"

I would like to repeat - Vedic Mathematics is useful for getting SUPER GOOD at basic math operation and calculation. I agree but at the same time I have to add that this person may have only gone through basic's of vedic mathemetics. There are more advanced material available [not covered in the 10 day course]. At the end of the program which I have designed, I will show you certain website from which you can sure benefit.

Other Web Sources:
"Vedic math is an ancient process of speedy mental math.. originating in India… the famous mathematican Ramanujan was a professed vedic mathematician… he solved the riehman problem using his vedic mathematical techniques.. his formula is what today's atm money system is based on as well…"

"Vedic mathematics sure will help with the pace of solving the problems. but, i suggest use the shortcut method that are recommended for elementary calculation like multiplication, division, sq. roots, squaring, cubes ,etc."

I would suggest everyone to take this 10 day free course and then you decide for yourself whether you need this. 10 days is not going to hurt you much.

Who brought Vedic Math to Limelight

The foundation of Vedic math, are the 16 sutras, which attribute a set of qualities to a number or a group of numbers. The ancient Hindu scientists (Rishis) which existed almost 2000 - 5000 years ago and resided in India, wrote 16 Sutras (Phrases) and 120 words established, highly simple methods for solving all mathematical problems in simple to follow 2 or 3 steps.

The person who later on converted the ancient sanskrit script into readable material for us, was Shri Bharati Krishna Tirthaji. The conversion of the veda was not easy as Vedic scholars didn't apply figures for large numbers in their mathematical notational system. Alternatively, they favored to use the Sanskrit alphabets, with each alphabet comprising a number. Numerous mantras, in fact, refer numbers; that includes the famed Gayatri mantra, which adds up to 108 when decoded.

However, Shri Bharati Krishna Tirthaji during 1911 to 1940 were able to convert them into readable text. It is also said that he wrote a book on eash of 16 sutras but they were lost and only one book which contained the summart was found somewhere in the 1950's.

Now many scholars around the world are looking forward to convert those 16 sutras which was first discovered by Shri Bharati Krishna Tirthaji.

What is Vedic Math?

Vedic Math is an ancient technique which was developed around 5000 years ago. The knowledge comes from Vedas which contained ancient text, related to science, astrology, physics, etc. One of the Vedas contained knowledge regarding Maths and came to be know as Vedic Math.

It was re-discovered in around 1911 to 1940 by Shri Bharati Krishna Tirthaji. The text was written in sanskrit and was disregarded as important due to inability of many scholars to convert the text into meaningful information. But Shri Bharati Krishna Tirthaji, were able write and convert this text. It is said that he wrote, 16 Books explaining all the principles of vedic math. However, all these books were lost and only a short summary was written before he died. The techniques given by vedic math has generated knowledge from scholars around the world.

But what are the benefits of vedic math to the common man, like you and me? These techniques are powerful and help us in our day to day life and some techniques are useful even to the scientist. In basic sense, vedic math gives tricks by which we can calculate much faster. These techniques given in vedic math do have a logical reasoning, but that depth cannot be covered for a normal human being, but the end tricks can be useful. For example, using vedic math, I can calculate 837272 x 999999 = 837271162728. It tool me 10 seconds to think and type. This was a simple example of vedic math. There are many others and when you join the course that I have created you will just be learning the fundamentals of vedic math and I am sure, by then of the course you will be amazed at the simplicity of vedic math in the same way as I was.
